The Museu Memling (Memling in Sint-Jan, original name in Flemish) is a museum housed in the old hospital Sant Joan (Sint-Janshospitaal ), one of the oldest medieval hospitals in Europe, located in Bruges, in Flanders.
Saint John's Hospital was founded around 1150 and housed the medical services of the city of Bruges until 1977.
The old sick rooms exhibit paintings, medical objects, antique furniture and archives that illustrate the daily life of the sick and of the religious communities, brothers and later sisters of the 16th century, subject to rule of Sant Agustí who administered the hospital dedicated, initially, to the reception of pilgrims and the indigent.
The pharmacy was active until 1971 and retains the layout it had in the xvii century.
