Sidra d'Asturies

The cider d'Asturies was produced davezu from pre-Roman rule. Asturias has an extension of 948 registered hectares of pumas. In 2018, in this autonomous community alone, production was estimated at 45,000,000 liters of cider, about 40 million bottles of cider, while by 2020 production grew to 60,000,000 liters.

Cider from 'Asturies is recognized internationally and received the Protected Origin Denomination (PDO) seal from the European Union. It is an essential part of Asturian culture and gastronomy, constituting a tourist attraction that is exploited in the Mancomunitá de la Contorna de la Sidra, among other places.
